"My wife and spent four fun filled days on the road in Ireland with John Fitzgerald. John was delightful to be with! He i...s young (38) and has a very pleasant, easy going personality. He is also very knowledgeable about the sights we were able to see in Ireland. We started in Dublin and went to Newgrange, a prehistoric monument, which dated back 1,000 years before Stonehenge. We then drove west to Cong and stayed at the magnificent Ashford Castle. The next day, we traveled south to Galway, across The Burren, the Cliffs of Moher, the charming town of Adare and into Killarney. John knew the right roads to see the best views and handled the rest stops and timing perfectly. The next day, John drove us all around the Ring of Kerry. Afterwards, we drove to Kinsale, a very picturesque fishing village. Before checking into our hotel, we stopped by the world famous Old Head Golf Club, on a peninsula, with stunning views overlooking the ocean. Our final day included stops in Cork, the medieval Rock of Cashel, the lush greenery of Glendalough and the magnificent Powerscourt Gardens, before returning to Dublin. We set an ambitious itinerary that covered an amazing amount of Ireland’s top highlights. We could not have done it without one of the best guides we have ever had, and a pleasure to be with, John Fitzgerald. Thanks, John!

"It was our first time to Ireland and what a tour. The country is beautiful and our guide was very informative and took us really off the beaten track! We met many locals and really felt like we were very welcome. The history and old ruins were amazing to see. Thanks again John!"

Stacey and John and Paul and Elizabeth, Florida, USA, 2016

"Absolutely first class. Our guide Paul was friendly and knew his country so well. We enjoyed the vacation so much and saw so much more than if we drove ourselves. it took the stress out of travelling for us and were free to do as we pleased. Ireland is a dream destination and Wild Way Chauffeur Tours made sure we experienced Ireland up close."

Tom and Dick Cassis, Brothers on a private tour of Ireland

In October of 2015, my brother and I spent two weeks in Ireland. During our ten-day commercial tour, a full afternoon was scheduled at the Blarney Castle and grounds, something that didn't interest us.  I had read about the West Cork coast and wanted to see this picturesque part of Ireland.  I called the tourist office and asked for a recommendation of a tour guide who knew the area well and they suggested that I contact John Fitzgerald.  What a wonderful recommendation it was!

John made several suggestions to me, including a visit to Kenmare, a beautiful village also on a bay.  We would not have seen this part of Ireland without his expert knowledge of the area.

John responded to phone calls and emails promptly, and when we settled on a route, he gave us what I considered to be a very fair price for his services.  We found John to be personable, knowledgeable...not only of the area, but of the history and stories of this fascinating place.  During our time with John, we got to know him pretty well and enjoyed his sense of humor.  He managed to get us to our meeting place in Killarney very timely. When I return to Ireland one day, I will definitely contact John to be our tour guide for the entire visit.  He is that good !

Myself and my husband treated ourselves on our wedding anniversary with a private tour of Ireland. Wild way tours suggested our superb hotels and restaurant choices. Our driver guide Paul was excellent and knew so much about the places we visited. We visited the Cliffs of Moher, Giants Causeway, Dublin, Galway and Cork and lots more besides. Only complaint was the rain!

The Baltimore gang in Galway on a private tourThe Baltimore gang spent four wonderful days with John I'm so glad we spent it with him .He's very knowledgeable and easy going .Book with John and enjoy the trip .We're already talking about our next trip! .- Linda Feiler

John took our trip from great to fantastic. Already missing his wit, expertise, and friendship! John gave our gang of 6 a fantastic time in Ireland. He had a great itinerary for us based on our already booked hotels and catered to our every last minute whim with a smile. He was very knowledgeable about all the places we went...and we went to quite a few across the country. We felt we not only had a tour guide in the end, but a friend as well!

Don't under estimate the value of a more intimate tour without having to deal with the constraints of traveling on a big bus. The ability to leave the hassles of driving and navigating the roads and just enjoy the ride was also a huge plus.
We're already thinking about out next time in Ireland....John, get ready for a northern tour! Cheers to Wild Way Tours and here's to the next time! - Jim Mitchell

John is a great tour guide! He is knowledgeable about all things Ireland -- geology, history, politics, culture and current events -- and he took us to see some great sights that we would have never found on our own. Though we had a good understanding of the general itinerary before embarking on our trip, he quickly grasped our group's interests and tempo, and adapted accordingly. For example, he took us to a great bakery for a lunch stop that turned into an impromptu picnic by a castle, directed us to the best fish and chips in Dingle, and gave us tips for good pubs and live music all along the route. Highly recommend!!! - Kristen Mitchell

My husband and I were part of the Baltimore gang that John drove around for four days through the southern part of Ireland. He exceeded our expectations with his knowledge, being able to handle all of our requests and was just an overall joy to be with. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a private driver while visiting the Emerald Isle. Thanks for everything John and looking forward to planning our next trip - I'm thinking northern Ireland next...we'll be in touch! We miss you John and had an awesome time!!! Thanks for everything!!! - Stephanie Brokovich

Scott and I had a fabulous trip our sincere thanks to you, your firm and most of all John Fitzgerald.  Our accommodations were great. All the hotels were in just the perfect location!  John made our trip extra special. He inspired us to see so much more of Ireland than we ever expected.  His knowledge of history, archeology and architecture is impressive. It was a joy to see his love of his country.  He's charming and so very attentive to all of our needs.  He never showed any frustration with our group even when we were behaving badly being late or silly and loud.

Discovery VR film crew in Galway

We were connected with John via The Irish Tourist board as a professional chauffeur driver for our business trip. We were traveling around for a week producing a film for Discovery VR exploring the nature and beauty of Ireland.
John's local knowledge was exceptional; not only was he able to guide us to unique locations, but he was also able to tell us the rich history of the site also and suggest alternative locations of a similar value.

John was always well prepared, well presented (the vehicle was always immaculate) and he fitted in seamlessly in a professional manner as part of the crew. His driving was consistently safe and he was always prepared to go out of his way to assist us, not matter what that was. I would not hesitate to recommend John both to my colleagues and friends either for business or recreational purposes in Ireland.

Claire Pearson, Director, Discovery Channel VR , 2016

John was great! We were a tough group of 4 and he tailored our tour of Southwest Ireland beautifully! We couldn't have done it without him. He is very good at making suggestions, he knows the area well and is knowledgable in the history. We highly recommend him if you want to leave the driving to someone who knows where he is going and has knowledge of many side interests. Thanks, John!

Patty Gill & Family, New York, U.S.A. 2016

John is beyond a doubt one of the best tour guides we have encountered. Great ideas, open to suggestions but most of all knows his "Ireland"...We will tour with him again next year!!!

Private tour group in Seans bar

John picked us up in Dublin, we had a delightful tour "around" Ireland, and ended where we began in Dublin 5 days later.  He is a confident, great driver on the narrow roads, was always prompt, and understood what we wanted to experience and tailored the trip to us.  John's sense of humor and knowledge of Irish history, archaeology, and the best pubs and restaurants made the trip perfect.  He was flexible, easy-going, but kept up the energy for those long days of sight seeing.  Easy to talk to and very personable, we truly enjoyed being in his company for our vacation.  Best decision we could have made...viewing the beautiful country with someone else to handle the driving, allowing us to just enjoy gorgeous Ireland

Croagh Patrick and Mayo private tourWhat a vacation! Our group of 4 spent 10 amazing days touring Ireland with John Fitzgerald, Wild Way Tours.
We are so happy that we decided on a private tour. John tailored our itinerary to our interests, making sure to do something for everyone. (which can be difficult when food, ruins, live music, cathedrals, Guinness, and water views were tops on our lists).
John is a pleasure to travel with, he has a great sense of humor and is extremely knowledgeable of Ireland and its history. Also one of the most important things, he recommended great places for us to eat, drink and listen to music in all of the towns we visited. (Something we hadn’t managed on our own the previous days.)

Thank you John, we would love to come back and do some other smaller towns and Northern Ireland. We highly recommend Wild Way Tours and John Fitzgerald – you can’t go wrong. Rick & Laura Fergus, Chicago, Illinois, 2017

The two of us spent two very full days with Ronan, and it was the best thing we did out of our 10 days in Ireland and Scotland. We specified that we wanted "off the beaten path" and he delivered. Ronan kept the conversation going the entire time, with so many personal anecdotes and deep knowledge, able to answer nearly every question we posed. He was very professional and personable, taking us to places no tour bus could go. Thank you to Wild Way Tours for making it the highlight of our trip!

Patrick McHugh, USA, 2018

This is Dr. Caplash writing a few words about our experience in Europe we visited four countries during our visit this summer and Ireland visit is unforgettable and pleasant we were group of six people  picked up at Dublin
Ireland. During our visit you were so punctual and polite and affectionate and very professional ,you explained each and every city with the history. The restaurants and hotels you picked up were of superb quality and with the history of the events explained to us very nicely and throughly impressive we were delighted with your explanation ,the command of language , time spent throughout our stay in Ireland. The price was very reasonable I would like to recommend to anybody your services which included Mercedes van which made the journey so comfortable to anybody who wants to visit Ireland . You are excellent driver and guide , If I have to rate this journey with you I would give you five stars*****.
Thank you very much once again.

"When my Dad suggested this family trip I was unsure how to make it happen as he has some health issues that make travel tough but Wild Way made this dream come true.

John was excellent at the back and forth communication beforehand making sure we had an itinerary that would suit our group and not have us seeing this beautiful country from the car. He was always fast to respond and had great suggestions. Their hotel recommendations were spot on and took that hassle off our hands.

Our guide Ciaran was very knowledgeable, friendly, and just downright helpful. He gave our gang of 10 a fantastic time in Ireland. Our chats at the end of each day to touch base on itinerary was key to adapting to the needs of the group. He was very knowledgeable about all the places we went...and we went to quite a few. Ciaran is a fellow foodie and had great recommendations for each place we stopped for food, drinks or music.

Don't underestimate the value of a more intimate tour without having to deal with the constraints of traveling on a big bus. The ability to leave the hassles of driving and get help in planning is clutch and if you have anyone with some disability challenges this is a fantastic way to make it doable. They even took care of a wheelchair rental for us.

We're already thinking about out next time in Ireland and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wild Way or use them again. "

We had a fantastic time in Ireland! John was very helpful in us planning our trip and communicated great throughout the entire process. From our drivers William and Archie to the hotels, we could not of been more happy. What a beautiful country and we could not over covered it all in seven days without this amazing tour group! Want to revisit our favorite spots and would book again through Wild Way! #theonlywaytogo

Debbie Cooper Knight, South Carolina, USA, 2018

Found them after another tour company told us they were full at the very last minute. But Wild Way was awesome and got us in for a 5-hour tour to some fantastic places! Great way to spend the day! I would highly recommend them to anyone spending time in Cork, especially if you don’t have the time and/or desire for a full-day tour but still want to get out and see sights outside of the city.

Chelle Campbell, USA, 2018

Our group of four had a wonderful five days with John who went above and beyond to ensue all our requests were met. After a few emails John came up with an itinerary to suit our needs. Very comfortable spacious car. Very obliging with plenty of stops to take photos of the beautiful Irish landscapes. He helped us find a lost suitcase before the tour had even started and finished up organising tickets and transported us to a game of hurling after the tour had actually finished. Highly recommend.

Jill Kay,Tasmania, Australia, 2018

There are not enough words to describe how wonderful John and our tour was. My son had sustained a stroke with mobility issues and speech impairment, his dream was to always visit Ireland. John made it all possible!! After several emails I knew he would be a good fit. He was so understanding and compassionate, helping in every way possible, getting us to the closest doors, going a back way to the top of The Cliffs of Moher, and even returning to our room several times in the evening after we left something in the van. We had to make some changes in our room reservations, and he took care of all the calls and details!! He was personable, funny and so knowledgeable about the history of Ireland. He took us on back roads to ancient ruins, and out of the way places that no bus could ever venture. A truly "off the beaten path" tour, which we sought. No matter your situation, or vacation wishes, you will never go wrong hiring John Fitzgerald!! He goes above and beyond....We love Ireland and John....Thanks again for a wonderful time!!

Cynthia and Seth Bopp, Missouri, USA, 2018

"Amazing Trip to Ireland - My sister and I had never been to Ireland and booking Wild Way Tours with John as our guide was one of our best decisions! He worked with us on a itinerary to fit our likes and adjusted for weather. John is friendly, knowledgeable and fun to hang out with. We would definitely book Wild Way Tours again!"

Patricia McCravy, Illinois, USA, 2018

"Excellent Tour of Ireland - My wife and I didn't have much time in Ireland but wanted to see as much as we could. We contacted John at Wildway Tours and he took us around and showed us amazing places. The trip went perfect and we were very pleased with the services that John provided. If you are looking for a private trip around Ireland I highly recommend using Wildway Tours."

"Perfect Trip - a friend of mine called john for my parents visit in Ireland during Easter holidays. we went to the ring of Kerry and the trip was fabulous, john is so kind and funny, he knows lots of stories and his van is so comfortable.
I suggest him."

Kerry Murphy, Detroit, USA, April 2019

We visited Cork for the second time in less than a year and wanted a different experience. John Fitzgerald of Wild Way Tours was recommended to us by another guide that we thought very highly of. The four of us and John set out on a full day visiting Ancient Stone Circles, The Gorgeous Atlantic Coast, pretty Irish villages. We could not have been happier, John made everything proceed very nicely. This day was a cruise stop, and John made sure that we made it back to the ship on time without making us feel rushed anywhere along the way.

Dennis Collins, New York, May 2019

"Amazing Tour of Kerry! - We booked Wild Way tours for a day trip on the Ring of Kerry. We had been on the standard bus tours before but we didn’t want to rush around everything this time! Instead we did the best portion of the Ring with stops that John knew and plenty of time to enjoy it all. John is a very knowledgeable guide and kept us entertained throughout the tour. We found the tour great value for the personalised service we got. Highly recommended! Thanks John!!"

Julia C, Cork, May 2019

"First time in Ireland was amaxing thanks to John our driver - John brought us to the most memorable places and the most beautiful during six days with him. He told us the history and background to the many places we visited or passed. We loved every part of our first trip to Ireland. Our Irish hearts will remember this forever."

Cheryl Foerstch, Chicago, USA, June 2019

"A lifetime of memories -This was our family’s first visit to Ireland and using John’s service resulted in a vacation packed with wonderful memories. There were six in our party and the van was quite comfortable. John’s expertise in archeology and history enriched our knowledge of our Irish heritage at every stop. He took us to remote places where few tourists go, but also found ways to avoid the crowds at popular places like the Cliffs of Moher. We never would have seen things like the deserted village from the famine without John’s expertise at navigating the narrow roads. From start to finish his above and beyond services, including making accommodation reservations prior to our trip, were first rate. We highly recommend John Fitzgerald and Wild Way Tours"

"We were a group of 8 on a 12 day British Isles cruise. John B. picked us up at Cohb (Cork) cruise port. We toured via the Wild Atlantic Way making many stops even taking pictures of the beautiful hydrangeas and sheep. We stopped for lunch at a wonderful little pub in Clonakilty and the food was delicious. It was nice to sit down and visit John while we had lunch. What a wonderful day we had!! John was knowledgeable, laughed with us and we enjoyed him so much. Thank you John for making our day so memorable. We highly recommend Wild Way Tours and received great service from start to finish."

We just finished a 9 Day tour with John and couldnt have been more pleased. Our custom tour was exactly what we wanted and John was great at adapting to weather and other personal considerations. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and has a great sense of humour. Would highly recommend John Fitzgerald.

Mick McGlothen - South Carolina, September 2019

We have done a 12 day all ireland tour with Wild Way Tours. John is an absolutely wonderful guy. His knowledge of Ireland is in - depth. He is extremely helpful and gave wonderful recommendations for restaurants and bars. My Dad had a mobility issue, inspite of that we could go to see Cliffs of Moher from the top with minimum walking. On the Ring of Kerry route he took us to off the beaten route for wonderful views. Thanks a ton John for a wonderful time in Ireland.

The BEST way to see Ireland!

Our Ireland vacation was a smashing success thanks to Wild Way Tours and John Fitzgerald! We were 3 couples taking a covid delayed trip, and John had kept in contact with us for 2 years until we were able to reschedule. John helped guide our itinerary from the get-go, advising the perfect towns to stay in to experience the best of Ireland. He was professional, personable, and most noteably knowledgable and passionate about the history of Ireland. John showed us many sites we would not have otherwise seen on our own or on a big tour bus. The schedule was always comfortable and flexible, we never felt rushed. He timed everything perfectly. John knew the best places to eat from tiny bakeries to Irish Pubs with live music. He made our entire trip effortless and enjoyable! Having a "local" guide makes all the difference.I highly recommend Wild Way Tours if you really want to experience Ireland!

A magical family trip to West Cork!

We're just back from a trip to Ireland and felt compelled to write our first review - because put simply, we've had the time of our lives. Holidays are few and far between lately and with two small children aren't always the most relaxing...until now.
John went out of his way to understand what would work best for our family. Our journeys were comfortable, fun and flexible, with every trip out feeling like a mini adventure. His love and knowledge of the area was quite something, infectious in fact.
We were spoilt for things to do, from off the beaten path beauty spots, beautiful secluded beaches and some of the most wonderful restaurants and pubs - places that locals frequent which we'd never have found or known to go to ourselves.
I'm not sure what more to say other than, we highly recommend WWT and will be back for more in the summer of 2023. Looking forward to it already.

Sarah W and family.  London - May 2022

Fantastic Irish Private Tour!

We had a fantastic week touring around Ireland with John. We saw great spots off the beaten path as well as Cork, Dublin and Galway. John was extremely knowledgeable about Irish history and the locations that we visited. He clearly has a great love for Ireland and his enthusiasm was evident. He was very attentive and ensured that we were enjoying the itinerary. We saw a lot but at a good pace and we always had time to relax and enjoy the places that we stayed. We were really able to see and experience a big part of the country from the comfort of a car and such an experienced driver. We would highly recommend John for a wonderful and interesting Irish vacation.

Best choice Ireland Tour!

We're so glad we chose Wild Way Tours for our 12 day stay in Ireland - It delivered more than we even dreamed of. It's hard to count all the ways that John Fitzgerald and Wild Way Tours enhanced our trip - from local knowledge and history to ticketing and great tour suggestions, John was our reliable guide to all the best. We loved spending time with him, and we can only echo what so many people have said about his friendliness, patience, flexibility, humor and helpfulness. He was the best! I think we congratulated ourselves every day for making the right choice in hiring Wild Way Tours - it made the trip.

3 Generational Family Trip a Great Success – Thanks to John
When you start thinking of a trip to Ireland, you think of all the incredible historical and natural sites that you want to see, and you hear about the narrow winding roads (that really should be one way). You then begin to realize why people book on an all-inclusive big company bus tour with 45 of your not closest friends. My husband baulked and said please find another way!
Thanks so much to JOHN at Wild Way Tours, not only did we tick off every item on our bucket list including Northern Ireland, but we were almost first in line or were able to avoid the crowds and huge tourist buses (which are inevitable if you visit Ireland over summer). We were able to see and experience the wonders of this beautiful country in the most amazing way possible. Furthermore, each day had a plan but other than ticket admission times, (book 30 days ahead for Newgrange Passage Tomb and 15 days ahead for Guinness and Jameson Distillery tours) each day was flexible. This is very unlike being herded around with 45 other people on massive tour bus - gobble and go!
Working with John not only gave us the opportunity to get off the beaten track but also to stay in unique places. My family and I really enjoyed googling and booking all the Airbnb’s and a stay at the Ashford Castle of course, (from one extreme to the other) and make a plan that suited us. That’s the flexibility and the freedom John gives you, it’s your vacation, where do you want to go and what do you want to see. Nothing was too much, and John was able to add in more spectacular sites as we went along. Oh, did I mention in 10 days we had one day of rain, John has a line to the weather guy up there too!
How often do you think, let’s take our mother-in-law on vacation with us? Widowed and 80, challenged to walk distances and afraid of heights, this trip was an amazing success, and she loved every minute of it. While the teenagers and parents were climbing up to Kiss Blarney Stone near Cork or holding on for dear life with the Carrick-a-Rede rope bride in Northern Ireland, Baba (MIL) was sitting with John, sharing a coffee and a nice chat. Everyone was able to do what they wanted to do and enjoyed themselves, despite the 3 generations and a 63-year age spread.
John in an amazing tour guide and safe driver, knowledgeable on everything local, (where is the best beer?) Irish history, and funny (of course he had to avoid the typical Irish MIL jokes, which we heard plenty on the on-off Dublin bus tour). He provided our family an incredible trip to Ireland. We couldn’t think of doing it any other way and would highly recommend John at Wild Way Tours to anyone planning a trip to Ireland. Thanks so much John!!

We were in Cork this April for a family reunion. We wanted to rediscover our Irish roots in West Cork and beyond - John couldn’t have given us a better experience. His passion and knowledge of Ireland is extensive and inspiring! We saw the most beautiful ‘off the beaten track’ spots and he made it all so effortless and fun for us, especially travelling with children too! He thought of everything, where we could stop for wonderful Irish lunches in quaint pubs, where the best beach spots were for the kids etc. Thank you John and WWT, we will be back!! Memories to cherish! ( sorry not that many pics, all of them had family in them!!)
