There are not enough words to describe how wonderful John and our tour was. My son had sustained a stroke with mobility issues and speech impairment, his dream was to always visit Ireland. John made it all possible!! After several emails I knew he would be a good fit. He was so understanding and compassionate, helping in every way possible, getting us to the closest doors, going a back way to the top of The Cliffs of Moher, and even returning to our room several times in the evening after we left something in the van. We had to make some changes in our room reservations, and he took care of all the calls and details!! He was personable, funny and so knowledgeable about the history of Ireland. He took us on back roads to ancient ruins, and out of the way places that no bus could ever venture. A truly off the beaten path tour, which we sought. We had done 12 days all Ireland tour with Wild way tours in June 19. John is absolutely wonderful guy. His knowledge of Ireland is in-depth. We traveled to Ireland during the summer of 2018 and deliberated heavily spending the extra money on a private driver. My wife did a ton of research and decided if we were to use a driver, it would be John from Wild way. That decision came from great exchanges over email and we decided to go with John. I can’t emphasize enough how smart of a decision that was!!! John helped us with our itinerary, made recommendations during the trip as he learned our interests, enhanced our learning and made all terrific recommendations along the way. On a day where our plans got interrupted due to weather and rough waters, John shifted gears and took us to some additional sites that were not originally planned. At the end of the trip we calculated the extra cost as $1000 for the week. When we judge that against constant good advice, ability to relax on travel (vs arguing over directions), and not worrying about how to navigate traffic circles while driving on the left side of the road... it’s a no brainer! Our group of four had a wonderful five days with John who went above and beyond to ensue all our requests were met. After a few emails John came up with an itinerary to suit our needs. Very comfortable spacious car. Very obliging with plenty of stops to take photos of the beautiful Irish landscapes. He helped us find a lost suitcase before the tour had even started and finished up organising tickets and transported us to a game of hurling after the tour had actually finished. Found them after another tour company told us they were full at the very last minute. But Wild Way was awesome and got us in for a 5-hour tour to some fantastic places! Great way to spend the day! When my Dad suggested this family trip I was unsure how to make it happen as he has some health issues that make travel tough but Wild Way made this dream come true. John was excellent at the back and forth communication beforehand making sure we had an itinerary that would suit our group and not have us seeing this beautiful country from the car. He was always fast to respond and had great suggestions. Their hotel recommendations were spot on and took that hassle off our hands. Our guide Ciaran was very knowledgeable, friendly, and just downright helpful. He gave our gang of 10 a fantastic time in Ireland. Our chats at the end of each day to touch base on itinerary was key to adapting to the needs of the group. He was very knowledgeable about all the places we went...and we went to quite a few. Ciaran is a fellow foodie and had great recommendations for each place we stopped for food, drinks or music. Don't underestimate the value of a more intimate tour without having to deal with the constraints of traveling on a big bus. The ability to leave the hassles of driving and get help in planning is clutch and if you have anyone with some disability challenges this is a fantastic way to make it doable. They even took care of a wheelchair rental for us. We're already thinking about out next time in Ireland and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wild Way or use them again.

In October of 2015, my brother and I spent two weeks in Ireland. During our ten-day commercial tour, a full afternoon was scheduled at the Blarney Castle and grounds, something that didn't interest us. I had read about the West Cork coast and wanted to see this picturesque part of Ireland. I called the tourist office and asked for a recommendation of a tour guide who knew the area well and they suggested that I contact John Fitzgerald. What a wonderful recommendation it was! John made several suggestions to me, including a visit to Kenmare, a beautiful village also on a bay. We would not have seen this part of Ireland without his expert knowledge of the area. John responded to phone calls and emails promptly, and when we settled on a route, he gave us what I considered to be a very fair price for his services. We found John to be personable, knowledgeable...not only of the area, but of the history and stories of this fascinating place. During our time with John, we got to know him pretty well and enjoyed his sense of humor. He managed to get us to our meeting place in Killarney very timely. When I return to Ireland one day, I will definitely contact John to be our tour guide for the entire visit. He is that good !

My wife and spent four fun filled days on the road in Ireland with John Fitzgerald. John was delightful to be with! He i...s young (38) and has a very pleasant, easy going personality. He is also very knowledgeable about the sights we were able to see in Ireland. We started in Dublin and went to Newgrange, a prehistoric monument, which dated back 1,000 years before Stonehenge. We then drove west to Cong and stayed at the magnificent Ashford Castle. The next day, we traveled south to Galway, across The Burren, the Cliffs of Moher, the charming town of Adare and into Killarney. John knew the right roads to see the best views and handled the rest stops and timing perfectly. The next day, John drove us all around the Ring of Kerry. Afterwards, we drove to Kinsale, a very picturesque fishing village. Before checking into our hotel, we stopped by the world famous Old Head Golf Club, on a peninsula, with stunning views overlooking the ocean. Our final day included stops in Cork, the medieval Rock of Cashel, the lush greenery of Glendalough and the magnificent Powerscourt Gardens, before returning to Dublin. We set an ambitious itinerary that covered an amazing amount of Ireland’s top highlights. We could not have done it without one of the best guides we have ever had, and a pleasure to be with, John Fitzgerald. Thanks, John!
